That's right, good bills, good childcare. But parent's care costs no money, but it's the best.

Unfortunately parents staying at home does cost, if you are claiming any benefits from the government it is costing us all. You may not see direct costs to you as the parent. But please think of those that have no choice but to work, we are assisting you to stay at home by paying tax on 2 incomes.

Everyone has a right to have a choice, but claiming one is better over the other is really too generalised a statement.

With regards to fee increases, I think it prudent that we remember that the Government is a part of increasing fees in child care centres. Whilst I assume that there is some small leeway within child care centres regarding charging of fees, there are outside factors influencing the increasing cost of child care. So to solely blame our child care centres for these increases is unncessary.

I think that if we continue to share our ideas for improvement and change then Goodstart will listen. This forum was implemented so that we as parents can share our stories, concerns and make suggestions for improvement and change. However, we need to take on board that change takes time. That if we believe we have a stategy or idea for improvement, recommend it and follow up its progress. Without parents committed to making change, nothing happens.

Have any considered joining the parent committees are their local ABC centre? These committees are committed to improving the centre and they are made up of parents like us wanting the best for our children.
